Eco Tourism & E-Business

CMD Training Institute is delighted to be delivering a brand new innovative course ‘Eco-Tourism & E-Business’. This course was initiated by the Meath Partnership in response to a growing need for skills in the emerging Eco-Tourism industry in Ireland. Eco Tourism is Defined as “Responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well being of local people”. In other words, touring local heritage sites and exploring your local environment.

Ecotourism is about uniting conservation, communities and sustainable travel. This means that those who implement and participate in ecotourism activities should follow the following eco-tourism principles:

  • Minimise impact
  • Build environmental and cultural awareness and respect
  • Provide positive experiences for both visitors and hosts
  • Provide direct financial benefits for conservation
  • Provide financial benefits and empowerment for local people
  • Raise sensitivity to host countries' political, environmental and social climate

Meath Partnership recognised that the Travel & Tourism industry is the largest business sector in the world. It is a growing industry with a huge amount of business opportunities in the local Meath economy. Meath Partnership decided to develop local entrepreneur’s skills in the areas of business start up, eco tourism, E-business and E-commerce so that they would be in a position to exploit some of these opportunities.

CMD Training Institute was picked to deliver this training course to over 29 local entrepreneurs. We helped to develop their business ideas from anything to fishing, self catering accommodation, adventure centres, handcrafts to a bakery. We helped them to plan out their course of action and get their businesses up and running online. We worked closely alongside Ireland’s leading eco-tourism expert Mary Mulvey from greenbox.ie. We had an absolutely brilliant time working with such a diverse group of entrepreneurs. We would like to wish them the best of luck with their new business ventures.

Grow Your Business With Social Media

Using Social Media to market and promote your business on line is not just the preserve of geeks or big-budget advertisers, but increasingly is being used by smaller businesses. The sceptics might wonder why – and where are the business benefits? You might wonder where to start and if it is really worth the effort.

The CMD Training Institute's new online course 'Grow Your Business With Social Media' will answer these questions and provide you with simple easy to follow instructions on how to effectively utilise tools such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, SlideShare and Blogger. It will also outline how to use these tools to promote your business and provide you with practical examples and case studies of how businesses all over the world have leveraged social media to boost sales, improve customer service and increase brand awareness.
